Should East Jerusalem be the Palestinian capital, and West Jerusalem the Israeli capital?

palestinian
Dorobo asked:

I think that will be necessary to bring peace. Going back to the pre-1967 borders would be good for both sides. Plus, it would reflect the true nature of Jerusalem; a city that is holy for both Jews and Muslims.

The border could be the Wailing Wall on the Israeli side, and the Dome of the Rock on the Palestinian side.
Also, East Jerusalem has a majority Palestinian population, while West Jerusalem is mostly Jewish.

I doubt it will go this way. Fanatics on both sides will not let such a simple and fair solution see the light.

if the peace is going to be with that deal.. then it should be divided but not walls.. just a political division… but jews and muslims should be able to visit their holy places and to become friends.. so they will live in peace… or another alternative.. jerusalem as international city.. where arabs and muslims share the city with equal rights.. a non jew city neither muslim.. just for all nations.. a government sharing between the communities

All of Jerusalem and the surrounding neighborhoods are part of the Israeli eternal capitol, Jerusalem, why are you people trying to divide it.
Better yet, show me one historical reference that says Jerusalem was a capitol of any Arab country.

Dome of the rock is the site of the temple, destroyed by Romans, the Al Aqsas and the Omar should be dismantled and re erected in some Arab country.
