What would Israels reaction if the Palestinians built their own airport in Gaza?
michael w asked:
They say they do not “control Gaza” so would military action be deemed illegal by the international community ?
If the US built the airport it would be a great embarrassment to Israel. Something I would love to see.
PORQUEMO Israel “Blew” up a whole city and yet they are planning to build thousands of new settlements in the West Bank on land that does not even belong to them.
PORQUEMO I sure that the Almighty will be very kind to me for telling Him the truth against His “chosen People”

MIR Come on you know full well that
The radar station and control tower were destroyed by Israel Defense Forces aircraft in 2001 after the start of the al-Aqsa Intifada, and bulldozers cut the runway apart in January 2002

Israel would get into a massive political squeal about it, but I think that the international community would frown on military action.

That may not ever happen

The Israelis would NEVER allow this. They would find a way to intervene and have ultimate control of the situation. The Palestinians are not free, they are under occupation, so this is hardly an option. We need to start to understand this.
Below I have a post for you to read. If you follow this persons post, you would see the trend for her to label anyone who disagrees with her or Israel’s policies, an anti-semite. Read and see.
ps.AMYISRAEL-aka “Paperback writer”- has taken time out of her day to apologize to all her Non-Jew friends. I tried to post this answer and it was deleted. Can you read this and let me know why you think it was, Mike?
by Henry-”All of your posts reek of hatred towards any non-jews. You are obviously a hard core Jew, and are proud of it. It is one thing to be proud it is quite another to be anti- “non-Jew” if someone isn’t a Jew, it would behoove you to be sensitive to those who don’t AGREE with what you say. Not because they are anti-semetic, but rather because they have issue with your facts.
Who is Socrates without Plato?
In order to have a honest exchange with another you need to allow them to speak. You can’t go around just hitting report all day long, because you have a wild hair somewhere. It will only make you look more tolerant, and Jews today could stand to prove they have tolerance. We do see what goes on around the World and particularly in the Middle East, and many of us are educated in matters concerning the “crisis” there.
An apology is fine, but actions speak louder than words. Don’t assume because one disagrees with your OPINION that they are instantly against a whole group of humans. That kind of paranoia is really unattractive, and highly unnecessary.
Where else can one have a heated exchange of ideas if not on the internet? Do not jeapordize this outlet for everyone else, including yourself. Do not be so quick to label any non-Jew a anti-anything, until you are open and willing to have some tolerance yourself.”

An airport for Palestine would be a potential military asset which Israel could not let the enemy have as long as there exists a state of war.
Let the palestinians agree to peace first and in time the airport will come as a matter of course.

Israelis would be shocked if Palestinians built an airport. People who only blow up things rarely build.
Try telling God that land does not belong to Israel. You will meet Him and you will regret what you are doing now.

they would say finally they are standing on their own two feet and moving on and stopping this vendetta
the land is paid for check it out
g-d bless Israel

Yeah, great idea. Do you know what would the 1st plane that will land there be loaded with? That’s right – weapons.

If that happened during the Bush years Israel would ,of course, kill everyone in the area. If it happened now they would have to tread more carefully. New climate for the evil little assassin nation.

They’d bomb it to smithereens!
Do you really think they would allow a strip for the Palestinians to run Migs off to Tel Aviv?
No way! They would take precautions with a preemptive strike so as not to give Hamas and their allies grounds for air attacks. They already attack Israel with mortars and rockets and have sent over a hundred of them into Israel since the so called ceasefire.
Has the international community reported that or have they done anything to stop that? NO!
As for the plans to build on the west bank well …. what can you do about it? Really … what? God knows about His chosen people and He has for thousands of years but you on the other hand haven’t even known of the Chosen people for a mere century yet. So don’t concern yourself about God’s kindness towards you for information He already knows.

Shock and Awe. Can they get their camels to fly?
May 15th, 2009 at 7:52 am
Lots and lots of bombs and probably lots of dead civilians too.

Airplanes pulled by donkeys won’t fly. It would be a waste of time.

Actually there was an airport in Gaza that was built with European donations in 1998, but Israel destroyed it in 2001. I think the European donors should ask for compensation. There was another airport near Ramallah, but Israel had closed it since 1967.
Gaza is still officially under Israeli occupation. Israel re-deployed its army outside population centers in Gaza to keep them out of the firing range of Palestinian resistance fighters, but at the same time maintained total control of Gaza’s borders, air and sea. Israel then implemented total blockade on the Gaza Strip for the last 3 years turning it into the largest concentration camp in human history.

The Israelis think they have the right to exercise political control over areas outside of their own country, to the detriment of the lives of millions of people.
It is time for the international community to focus on human rights in this area of the world. Whether or not people whose human rights are violated belong to a sovereign state does not make a difference in whether they have those human rights.
Keeping so many people stateless for so long is not justifiable. Either a separate Palestinian state needs to be established or the stateless people need to be incorporated into Israel with full citizenship rights. The Avigdor Lieberman idea of “transporting” the Palestinians out of the area would just be ethnic cleansing, which is unacceptable.

Michael, you only ask these questions in order to make political statements.
THERE IS A GAZA AIRPORT the airport opened in 1998, it even has a name Yassir Arafat International Airport.
As for the regular chat.
Israel did not blow up anything, Gaza city is huge, Hamass was hiding in parts of the city, buildings were the hid were hit.
May 23rd, 2009 at 7:48 pm
I dont think that will ever happen, but if it does actually happen it would be built by the US. This would be really interesting, and I would love to see Israel’s reaction.
May 25th, 2009 at 5:58 pm
Which Palestinians, the moderate ones who only want to destroy Israel
or the radicals who only want to destroy Israel.
I am sure an airport in any normal society that focuses on democracy, freedom and building a useful society would find an airport to be very
liberating.
Unfortunately we know without a shadow of doubt that it would only be used to further terrorist acts against Israel.
The ” Palestinians ” in their infinite wisdom and guided by their Iranian
mentors chose only hate and death ad infinitum.
