nothing… its all about the way the translater writes it once its translated in english… for instance.. My last name starts with EL- and the rest of my family last name starts with AL- I was very confused at first … but it starts with the translating process since arabic language does not use the english alphabet it doesnt matter either way how it is spelled. :)

No, because in arabic it’s the same prefix.
it all goes back to the translation and pronunciation

In old time in between the Arabs, there was the leader called “Sheikh” like a Mayor of his people or tribe. Whoever are from his family use to have the AL in their last name, which mean they are from an honorable family. In Arabic there is no difference between EL and AL .. they are written the same.

First of all , they are the same , but its pronounce as “el” or “al” , depending on the word place in the phrase.

    “el” or “al” means “The”
its the same , so no difference

Wish u all the best , if u want any other question , pls ask , or email us ,

depends on the dialect actually. Lebanese Arabic its “el” most other dialects its “Al”. And also many people confuse “Al” with “Aal” (with a “mad”) which means the “family of” a gd of example would be Aal Maktoum which is the royal family in UAE. and when it comes before a name of a family it is usualy followed by a dash. other wish its just al

Trust me my answer is the best :)
