My significant other has lost her mind and is on drugs and prostituting herself on the West bank of New Orleans. What do I need to do to have her 302′d and picked up and committed. There are more details to this than meet the eye and I am 800 miles from there and this is a gay relationship. There is no blood family and no legal records because of the nature of our relationship. How do I have her picked up and put into rehab or something? Please help.

I’m sure the distance you are from the person will prevent you from pushing any legal action since you don’t have personal visual witness.

I’m pretty sure that when someone get’s 302′d by another the doctor who is checking the patient after being picked up by the police has to agree with the idea… kind of like you’re putting in the petition and the doctor has the final say.

Try calling Social Services or Family Services [maybe even mental health] and explain the situation. Maybe they can give you some advice. Good luck !!!
