Yes! My mom just went through this and she was allowed to knit. She even bought plastic crochet hooks but they told her this wasn’t necessary. Soo just pack it in your carry on and you’ll be fine.

Knitting needles are not allowed as part of hand luggage I’m sorry

Usually not but since some airlines have different baggage rules for different airports, you may check directly with El-Al. Most airlines nowadays do not allow sharp and pointed objects.
